WOMAN ACCUSES FELLOW PASSENGER ON BOARD KOLKATA-DELHI INDIGO FLIGHT OF MOLESTATION


Kolkata: A 50-year-old man was arrested on Monday at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport for allegedly molesting a female co-passenger on board a plane.
According to the police the accused identified as Sanjay Kanad and the 30-year-old victim both are residents of Delhi and had boarded the early morning flight to Kolkata on Monday. Kanad was sitting next to the victim.
As soon as the flight went mid-air the victim complained the Indigo Airline staff that she was molested by her co-passenger. The complaint was made to the captain of plane who made a different seating arrangement for both.
After the plane landed and a formal complaint was registered at the NSCBI airport police station at Kolkata International Airport. Kanad was booked under the relevant sections of molestation and will be produced before a court later in the day.
A year ago in a similar incident happened in flight where a 62-year-old businessman on flight had allegedly molested a woman and the video made by women after the incidence lambasting the businessman went viral on social media.
Soon after landing in Bhubaneswar, she lodged a complaint at the Airfield police station against the male passenger, who was identified as Ravin Jhunjhunwala, a CEO holding of a Singapore based company.
