Body at forest resort: Mohali court denies anticipatory bail to Lt Col Sandhu

MohaliIn yet another blow to Lt Col BS Sandhu (retd), chairman of Worldwide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) and owner of Forest Hill Resort in Nayagaon, a Mohali court on Wednesday dismissed his plea for anticipatory bail in the case of murder of a Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) staffer. Sandhu, who has been untraceable, was told to join investigations after police arrested three employees of his resort on March 26 for allegedly killing the 28-year-old Burail man and disposing of his body in Pinjore. Victim Abhishek Guleria had been missing since leaving a relative’s house in Nayagaon late on March 13. The employees had claimed they found Guleria’s body in a septic tank at the resort on March 22 and were told to dispose it of by Sandhu. On April 12, the Punjab and Haryana high court had rejected Sandhu’s anticipatory bail plea, calling it “premature” as the plea moved in the lower court on April 5 was still pending. Body in Forest Hill resort: Mohali court to hear Sandhu’s anticipatory bail plea today

A local court will on Tuesday take up the anticipatory bail plea of Lt Col BS Sandhu (retd), owner of Forest Hill Resort and Worldwide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS), who is named in the murder of a 28-year-old CTU staffer. Besides, police will move a fresh plea on Tuesday, seeking directions to record the voice of Gurdeep Bains, an employee of the resort, who is accused of murdering the victim, Abhishek Guleria. Bains had refused to give his voice samples a week ago. Sandhu was summoned by the police on March 27 to join investigation after three employees of the resort — liasoning officer Gurdeep Bains, his assistant Tarsem Singh and security in-charge Balwinder Singh—, currently in judicial custody, had told investigators that they had found Guleria’s body in the tank of the resort’s sewage treatment plant, following which they informed Sandhu The trio had claimed that it was on Sandhu’s behest that they had wrapped the body and dumped it on the Pinjore-Badd...

  A local court has issued the arrest warrants of  Col BS Sandhu , the chairman and MD of World Wide Immigration Consultancy Services Ltd WWICS in a case related to murder. Sandhu, owner of Forest Hill Resort, had to join police investigation in a murder case of Abhishek Guleria. Abhishek was a CTU employee.  Three accused already in police custody have excepted that Abhishek’s body had been disposed off at the behest of Col Sandhu. Regarding Sandhu’s whereabouts, according to his staff, Sandhu was hospitalised after the registration of a case against him by Mohali police. Nayagaon death: SIT chief visits spot, victim’s family demands thorough probe

Nayagaon Police are yet to solve the mystery surrounding the death of 31-year-old CTU employee Abhishek Guleria, whose body was found in a water tank at the Forest Hill Resorts, owned by Lt Col (Retd) B S Sandhu, on March 25. The family members of Abhishek, however, said police should question the three persons, who were with him before his death. SIT chief, IG Shashi Prabha, visited the spot on Friday. Abhishek’s elder brother Ranjan told Chandigarh Newsline that two friends of Abhishek, Rajesh and Ashwini, and Ashwini’s brother-in-law Ravi, were with him on March 13, before his death. “Rajesh belongs to our native village near Jwalamukhi in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Since he was coming to Chandigarh on March 13, my mother sent two shirts and a mobile phone for Abhishek through Rajesh,” said Ranjan. Court issues arrest warrants against Baljit Singh Sandhu

MOHALI: A local court on Saturday issued arrest warrants against Lt Col Baljit Singh Sandhu (retd), the chairman of immigration consultancy company WWICS and owner of Forest Hill Golf and Country Club in Nayagaon, in the CTU employee death case. The police had called Sandhu for questioning following the disclosure statement of the three accused arrested in the case, but he is yet to join the probe. Abhishek Guleria was found dead on March 25 after he had gone missing on March 13. Sources said Sandhu was absconding and despite summoning him for recording his statement under Section 160 of CrPC, he has failed to appear before the police. A senior police officer said, “We have got the arrest warrants against Sandhu. A massive search operation has been launched to arrest him.
