60-cr scam: Police raid Adesh University, seize records
Bathinda, July 13 Panic gripped the employees of Adesh University here following police raids in connection with Rs 60 crore of financial irregularities related with the recent admissions. Though senior policemen are tightlipped over the issue, sources said that the irregularities are related with admissions to various medical courses. Police teams, led by Bathinda SSP Indermohan Bhatti, raided different accounts branches of the university and seized numerous soft and hard copies of university records. Apart from the financial transactions, documents related to the admission process and seats given to the students have been seized. Though none of the university authorities could be contacted despite repeated attempts, Bathinda SSP Indermohan Bhatti confirmed the development. SSP Bhatti said that the police received a complaint from Surinder Sidhu, a member of the society that runs the university. He is a resident of Doomwali in Haryana.
